Established 18 years ago, Autek Industri A/S develops and distributes automotive test equipment to customers all over the world. The Danish family enterprise ensures that everything in a vehicle is at a perfect level - comfort, security, and economy. The company´s trading partners know that they can expect from their supplier a perfect level of service as well.

Autek Industri A/S is a modern business by any standards. Backed by its wealth of experience in wheel alignment systems, the company focuses on research and development, assembly, quality control, and marketing. Production itself is exclusively carried out by subcontractors. "Our strenght is our knowledge, not how to make pre-fabrics", says Jens Ove Albertsen, Managing Director elaborating on his company´s philosophy.
With 14 employees and sales volume around USD 3 million, Autek is a relative small enterprise. Nevertheless it ranks as the strongest player in the field of wheel alignment and sales in 40 countries around the globe. "Flexible organisation to adapt the product to each market is our competitive strenght", stresses Jens Ove Albertsen.
"We used to be a subcontractor to the old Danish company HPA. But after our partner was bought up by an Italian company, we decided to develop our own products," recalls Jens Ove Albertsen. "Having the product and market knowledge, and the know who, we didn´t find it difficult to stand on our own feet."
Today, Autek Industri A/S offers a complete programme of wheel aligners complemented by testing systems for brakes, suspension, and other vehicle components. The demand for computer-controlled alignment hardware is met with its new generation of wheel alignment equipment represented by the OPTO-PLUS 618-DSP. Featuring digital signal processing, the innovative system gives the optimal accuracy, fast response and maximum user comfort, the icon of Danish Design.
Where marketing and sales are concorned, Autek Industri maintains a close relationship to its trading partners. " Depending on the size of the market, we work with one or two importers in each country. When selecting an importer, we give preference to those who have a sales staff with technical experience and a total concept to offer the end-user", explains Jens Ove Albertsen. "This is an excellent constallation: our partners have the knowledge of the market, and we provide the techincal education and support required. Now that CD-ROM, video technology and the World Wide Web have arrived on the scene, distance education is no longer a problem."
Export sales account for 95 percent of Autek´s turnover. Looking ahead, the vehicle specialists from Copenhagen will continue to focus on their traditional core competence. Controlled growth, constant product development and further consolidation of the service organisation is their strategy for the years to come.
